1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the GreekLife platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any other applicable policies. Your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any updates to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirement
You must be at least 16 years old to use the GreekLife platform. If you are under 18, you represent that you have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use the platform. We may require proof of age or parental consent upon request.
3. Freemium Access and Optional Subscriptions
GreekLife is free to use for all users, with core features available at no cost. Optional premium features may be accessed by subscribing to a paid monthly or annual plan. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. GreekLife does not store full payment details on our servers. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled, and you may cancel at any time via your dashboard. No refunds are provided for unused portions of the billing cycle. Pricing and features are subject to change with prior notice; applicable taxes and fees may apply. Third-party services, such as Stripe, are subject to their own terms and conditions, and GreekLife is not responsible for their performance or any issues arising from their use.
4. Service Availability and Modifications
GreekLife reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time without prior notice. We are not liable for any impacts resulting from such changes, including service interruptions or loss of access to features.
5. Non-Affiliation Disclaimer
GreekLife is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to any national or local fraternity, sorority, or related organization. The mention of organization names, chapters, or other identifying information is for informational and directory purposes only and does not imply any endorsement, partnership, or official representation. All trademarks, service marks, logos, and trade names referenced on the platform are the property of their respective owners, and GreekLife disclaims any ownership or rights thereto. We do not use official logos or branded imagery without explicit permission from the trademark holders.
5.1 Trademark and Branding Guidelines
To comply with trademark laws and licensing requirements (such as those managed by entities like Affinity Licensing), GreekLife does not display official logos, symbols, mascots, or any "confusingly similar" representations of national or local organizations as profile images or placeholders. Instead, we may use generic, non-branded placeholders (e.g., neutral icons, abstract images, or photorealistic scenes inspired by general themes like location or interests) that are clearly labeled as such. These placeholders are not official representations and are provided solely for visual identification in search results or profiles.
Users are prohibited from uploading or modifying content to include trademarked materials, logos, or other intellectual property without proper rights or licensing. By uploading content, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, permissions, or licenses to any material submitted.
If you believe any content on the platform infringes a trademark or copyright, please report it to support@greeklife.io for review and potential removal. GreekLife will act expeditiously to review and, where appropriate, remove infringing content upon receiving valid notice. GreekLife assumes no liability for third-party claims arising from user-uploaded content.
6. No Guarantee of Membership
GreekLife does not guarantee that users will receive bids or membership offers from any fraternity or sorority. All membership decisions are at the sole discretion of the respective organization. Matching algorithms or survey results are provided for informational purposes only and do not imply acceptance, compatibility, or any official affiliation.
7. Conduct and Behavior Disclaimer
GreekLife is not responsible for the conduct, behavior, or actions of any users or organizations listed on the platform. Concerns related to chapter behavior should be reported to the relevant institution or governing body. We encourage safe and respectful interactions but cannot monitor all activity.
8. User Representations and Warranties
By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations. If you access the platform from outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with all applicable local laws and regulations.
9. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You may not impersonate others or share your login information. You must notify us immediately at support@greeklife.io of any unauthorized access to your account.
10. User Content
You retain ownership of content you upload but grant GreekLife a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and share that content within the platform to provide our services. GreekLife reserves the right to remove inappropriate or misleading content. All content you upload must not infringe third-party rights, and you represent that it is original or properly licensed. You acknowledge that repeated violations of intellectual property rights may result in termination or permanent banning of your account (repeat infringer policy).
11. Code of Conduct
Users may not engage in the following prohibited activities:
- Harassing or bullying others
- Posting hate speech or discriminatory content
- Impersonating others
- Sharing false or harmful information
- Spamming or sending unsolicited communications
- Engaging in unauthorized data scraping
- Using the platform for commercial purposes without prior written consent from GreekLife
GreekLife reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user for violating these rules. Violations may be reported via support@greeklife.io.
12. Intellectual Property
The GreekLife name, logo, and software are the intellectual property of GreekLife. Unauthorized use, copying, modification, or distribution of platform elements without permission is prohibited.
12.1. DMCA Policy
GreekLife complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar intellectual property laws as applicable. If you are a rights holder and believe your copyright-protected work is being used on the GreekLife platform without authorization, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated DMCA agent at support@greeklife.io
We will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to content identified as infringing and may disable, suspend, or terminate user accounts found to be repeat infringers, in accordance with the DMCA.
12.2. Repeat Infringer Policy
Pursuant to the DMCA and platform policy, GreekLife reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights. A user may be considered a repeat infringer if they receive multiple valid copyright or trademark complaints.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Termination
GreekLife may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time via your dashboard. If your account is suspended or terminated by GreekLife, you may contact support@greeklife.io to request a review, though reinstatement is at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your data may be deleted, and we bear no liability for any resulting loss.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GreekLife, its affiliates, and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, service interruptions, or third-party actions.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold GreekLife, its affiliates, and employees harmless from any claims, damages, or losses resulting from your use of the platform, including third-party claims arising from your content or actions.
17. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform will be resolved through binding arbitration in Texas, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
18. Force Majeure
GreekLife is not liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these Terms due to events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, cyberattacks, or government regulations.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.
